ASI Bhubaneswar Circle

Bhubaneswar Circle was established in April, 1985 and is responsible for looking after the 78 monuments of national importance spreading in 30 districts of Orissa including one World heritage monument viz. the Sun temple at Konark. The monuments and sites under its jurisdiction are varied in nature. They include pre-historic sites, proto historic sites, forts and fortifications, epigraphically records; rock cut architectures, Buddhist monuments/sites, tanks, temples, ancient bridges etc. The circle is conserving and managing the monuments and sites through its five sub-circles viz. Konark, Puri, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Dhenkanal and two site offices at Boudh and Udayagiri.

ASI Patna Circle

Patna Circle is one of the oldest circles of ASI which was earlier known as Mid Eastern Circle and still earlier as the Buddhist Circle ostensibly because of the important Buddhist monuments lying in its area.

ASI Guwahati Circle

The Guwahati Circle of Archaeological Survey of India, with its head quarters at Guwahati was established in February, 1983 after bifurcating from the Calcutta Circle and it is playing a greater role in preservation, protection and maintenance of the ancient monuments and archaeological sites of the northeast region or the land of Seven sisters comprising the States ofAssam, Arunachal, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and, Tripura.

ASI Kolkata Circle

Kolkata Circle being trifurcated and separated from the then eastern Circle in 1984 encompasses the area of present state of West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Island. Kolkata circle altogether looks after 136 monuments of national importance for the conservation and day to day upkeep through its seven sub-circles located at Geyzing(Sikkim), Cooch Behar, Kalna, Malda, Murshidabad and Bishnupur for effective administration, maintenance, to undertake special repairs and to keep a watch on encroachments & illegal constructions.

ASI Ranchi Circle

Archaeological Survey of India, Ranchi Circle is newly created circle of A.S.I. which have been bifurcated from Patna Circle in 2003. Before creation of Ranchi Circle, it was a Sub-Circle under Patna Circle and the office of Conservation Assistant was established at H. I.-31, Harmu Housing Colony, Harmu, and Ranchi.
